Telephone Voice mailboxes will not be available from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. tomorrow, Wed. Nov. 26.  ITS will upgrade the voice mail server with the latest Windows patches during that time.  After 3 pm the voice mailbox system will return to normal functioning.

 

 

The Microsoft Math Add-in adds computational and graphing capabilities to the Equation Tools Ribbon of Word 2007.  With the Microsoft Math Add-in for Word 2007, you can:

If you were having trouble using Math Type on the network, this Math Add-in will be most helpful.

 

To download the Math Add-in go to Start, Network Programs, in the drop down box on the right click on MS Office Math Add-in.  The add-in will  then download and be available for use in Microsoft Word 2007. 

 

You can find the Add-in by clicking on the top tool bar on Add-ins.  A box titled Math will appear on the Custom Toolbar.  Clicking on that icon will reveal the following drop down choices: Insert a New Equation, How to Create a Graph, How to Solve an Equation, and Math Preferences.

Over Interim ITS will be upgrading several versions of software on the network and/or labs.  Adobe Creative Suite 4 will be added to the Meily-Swallow Graphic lab and some labs in Carnegie.  Camtasia 6.0 will be upgraded on the network.  Clean Slate 5.0 will be installed on all classroom PCs and PC computer labs.  GroupWise 7.03 will be upgraded on the network.  This upgrade will lay the groundwork for GroupWise 8.0 which the College will be migrating to this summer.

 

 

GroupWise 8 will add a customizable interactive dashboard and Web 2.0 work spaces.  The new version's dashboard allows users to interact with e-mail, calendar, contacts and task lists in one location, and features Web 2.0 enabled team work spaces, blogs, RSS feeds and applications.

Version 8 also features support for numerous handheld devices, like iPhones, BlackBerrys and Palm-based handsets. It also has an enhanced calendar system that can make some data publically available,and improved contact management, with support for contact visuals like maps, photos and more.  It will also support threaded email, which allows conversations to be read as discussions.

Office Hours Import into GroupWise for Faculty

The import of faculty office hours into the GroupWise calender has been revised. To load faculty office hours into the GroupWise Calendar go to Merlin, on the Faculty Menu go to NCC Reports,  then click on Faculty Office Hours.  Complete the form for office hours and when completed click on the Submit button.

You will then get an email from yourself with the subject: Your Office Hours.  Right click attachment and choose Import Calendar.  This will update the GroupWise calendar for the term.
