F Drives Will Not Be Available
ITS will be moving faculty and staff F drives to a larger volume this weekend. As a result of that process F drives will not be available for use on Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 1 and 2). Once the move is complete the limit on the maximum size of a person's F drive will be increased from 4 gigabytes to 6 gigabytes. All data that is being moved has been backed up and there is no chance for data loss.
Teaching Station Upgrades
ITS has upgraded the monitors on all teaching stations from 15" flat panel monitors with dual inputs to 17" flat panel monitors will dual inputs. The 15" flat panel monitors from the teaching stations will be cascaded to staff.
Also, working with Instructional Media, six new teaching stations will be added, some with SmartBoards. Those rooms are in Goldspohn, Old Main, WAC, and Miely-Swallow.
PC Cascade Continues
ITS still has 132 PCs to cascade which will result in computer upgrades to those people receiving them. We are hoping to complete this migration between now and the start of Winter term.
On a related note, we still have some PCs that are not running Windows XP as their operating system. ITS is also trying to get that process complete so that everyone is on Windows XP and Office 2007.
