I bet you are seeing more spam than ususal.  Yup, we own up to it.  As I mentioned many times before this is like a dog chasing its tail.  We are adjusting our spam protection constantly.  We are subscribing to a new spam blocking list and hopefully this should reduce more spam.  We should have that spam blocking list implemented early next week.

 

As a reminder Datatel and Merlin will not be available starting Friday, August 17 as we prepare to migrate to Datatel Version 18.  We will be working all weekend on that conversion.  Hopefully at 8 am on August 20 all of those systems will be on the new version.  If not, we will try again the following week.

 

The project is moving forward but not as smoothly as we had hoped.  New equipment has been installed in all but 5 buildings.  We are testing the feed from our Cable services provider.  We will be working this weekend installing more equipment and testing feeds on campus.  Our goal is to have the new system operational by August 29.

 

Work continues on this project but we are a long way from completion.  We have rolled out 142 new PCs with Windows XP and we have 300 more to roll out.  We cannot roll out Office 2007 until all the PCs and Windows XP is deployed.  Our target date for completion is September 1.

 

We have replaced 200 keyboards, mice and power cords so that they are now all coordinated in black.  We have about 50 more to complete.  Also we are replacing all gray monitors with black monitors; there are still 80 monitors that need to be replaced.  If you have not been visited by the Fashion Police by September 1, please let us know.
