As demonstrated by recent mass e-mails, employees at North Central College are sympathetic to charitable causes and the College administration applauds the efforts. However, the ITS Office has received several questions/comments from faculty and staff regarding the issue of using College resources to support such causes.
As a reminder, College resources may not be used in direct support of non-college entities, such as support for people, clubs, charities, churches, businesses, family or neighbors. North Central's policy, "The Responsible Use of Information Technologies", states that College resources are to be used to support the College's basic missions of teaching, learning and research and for directly related College efforts.
