ITS UPDATE: Your Passwords are in Danger of being Exposed

Your Passwords are in Danger of being Exposed
If an individual knows your password they have access to all your personal and confidential information when they log into a system.  When you use a password manager, it keeps track of your password and when you log into a system it automatically completes the password.  Many of us use this feature.  However, did you know that the default setting in Firefox allows individuals to easily see all your passwords in clear text?  To keep your passwords secure, please use a Master Password as it will protect your stored passwords in the password manager.

To set up your Master Password follow these steps:
  • In Firefox go to the top menu bar and click on Tools
  • The on the drop down menu click on Options
  • A pop up box will appear and on the top menu click on
  • Go to the section listed Passwords and place a check in the box Use a Master Password
  • A pop up box will appear that looks like this
  • Complete the information and click OK
Your passwords will now be encoded and not readable by anyone; so please do not forget your master password.
