At 8 pm on Saturday the fiber optic network connecting the main campus to the south end of campus was repaired.  All network traffic was tested and the network has returned to normal functioning.  Today, Jan. 1, ITS staff are making sure that the Stadium computer lab and all the teaching stations in the Stadium and Merner Field House are working properly for the start of classes on Tues. Jan. 2.  Should there be any problems, please call the Help Desk at x 5440.

 

Some individuals are still using floppy drives to save files.  As you know, all PCs that have been purchased in the last few years do not have a floppy drive.  Zip Drives are no longer being purchased either.  Make a New Year's resolution and save your important data to your "F" drive.  It is backed up on a regular basis and we can retrieve your files.  I cannot make the same promises for floppy drives and Zip Drives.  If you want your data to be portable please use flash or thumb drives.
