On Friday, September 8th at 9 a.m. ITS will be migrating all faculty and staff to a new voice mail system called Xpressions; a unified messaging system..The migration should take about 2 hours. The new system does everything the old system does and more. Now you will get your voicemails both on your phone and in GroupWise as an email. It will look like this in your GroupWise email account: 
Click on the email to open it and then double click on the icon at the bottom of the page that looks like this The .wav file will now play on your PC. Note: If you do not hear sound from your PC, make sure the sound is enabled by double-clicking on the yellow mega phone in the lower right corner of your computer. On the volume control screen, make sure the volume slider is all the way up, and make sure the "mute all" box is NOT checked below the volume slider.
Xpressions is accessed the same way that you access phone mail now. Dial 5995 to access your Xpressions voice mail. The first time that you access it, after 11 am on Friday, you will be prompted to change you password and record your name. Your password should be at least 6 numbers. Next, you will want to record an alternative greeting. The alternative greeting is your main greeting in Xpressions.
To record your alternative greeting, follow these steps:
- Press 8 to change your answering options.
- Press 1 to record a personal greeting.
- Press 1 to change your alternative greeting.
- Press 1 to turn the alternative greeting on.
- Press 1 to give the message a greeting number.
- Press 1 to start recording your message.
- Press * after you finish recording.
Voice mails from the old system will NOT be moved to Xpressions. Please empty your voice mailboxes prior to 9 am on Sept. 8th.
NOTE: The voicemail in Xpressions will be deleted after 14 days. The email with the voicemail will be in your email until you decide to delete it. |
