All Ethernet ports will be active from the beginning of the year for one week.
However, to keep them active, students need to complete our online
port-registration page.
You will need your NCC network ("Novell") username
and password to access the registration page.
Normally, the Novell username is the same as your Merlin username.
You can
look up your username using Merlin's 'What's
My User ID' page.
The rule of thumb for Novell/Merlin usernames is:
first initial + middle initial + last name
For example, John Quincy Adams would probably have the username:
jqadams
While your Novell and Merlin usernames are the same, the two systems use
different passwords. Your initial Novell password is your seven-digit ID.
You will need to fill out the registration form from your
computer in your dorm room connected to the port you will be using. It will
not work from the labs.
I understand that the registration of the data port does not imply any
guarantee on the part of ITS or North Central College that my PC
will work over the NCCNet, the College's data network. I also agree to
abide by all the terms and conditions of network use as set out
in the current version of the
North Central College Statement of Acceptable
Use of Information Technologies.
