The instructions below are for configuring Windows Vista with Intel PROSet wireless cards to
connect to NCC's Wireless Network.
Note: If you are using the Intel PROSet utility on Windows Vista,
please update your drivers:
Windows Vista Wireless Configuration:
1.
Click
Start -> Network.

2.
Click
"Network and Sharing Center" button at the top of the
window.

3.
Click
"Manage wireless networks."

4.
Click
"Add."

5.
Click
"Manually create a network profile."

6.
Enter
the following, then click "Next."
1.
Network
name: NCC_Wireless
2.
Security
type: 802.1x
3.
Encryption
type: WEP
4.
Check
"Start this connection automatically."

7.
After
"NCC_Wireless" is added, Click "Change connection
settings."

8.
In
the "Connections" tab, Ensure that this box is checked:
1.
"Connect
automatically when this network is in range"

9.
Click
the "Security" tab. Then verify these settings:
1.
Security
type: 802.1x
2.
Encryption
type: WEP
3.
Network
authentication method: Protected EAP (PEAP)
4.
Keep
"Cache user information for subsequent connections to this
network" checked.
5.
Click
"OK"

10.
Go
back to the Manage wirelss Networks window and right click on the newly
created NCC_Wilress network and
click Properties
11.
Click
on the Security tab and then
select the drop down box next to Security
type
12.
Select
Intel - Open with 802.1x and then click on Configure.
13.
The
Intel SecuritySetting window will apear

14.
Make
sure Authentication type is set
to TTLS and that Athentication Protocol is set to MS-CHAP

Next
to User Credentials select Use the following
16.
Enter
you NCC username in the User Name: AND the Roaming Identity: fields
17.
Ener
AND confirm your NCC password
and click next.
18.
Verify
these settings:
1.
Uncheck
"Validate server certificate."
2.
Select
Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2).
3.
Uncheck
"Enable Fast Reconnect."
4.
Click
"Configure."

19.
Uncheck
"Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain
if any)." Click "OK" on all open boxes.

20.
Click
the bubble that says, " Additional information is required to connect
to NCC_Wireless. Click to provide additional information and connect."

21.
The
"Enter Credentials" box will pop up, enter the following:
1.
User
name: Your NCC Username
2.
Password:
Your NCC Password
3.
Logon
domain: Leave field blank

You should now be connected to the NCC_wireless network.
