Do's
User responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining privacy and security by keeping all passwords confidential
- Honoring all computing security procedures implemented by the
College
- Not wasting resources i.e., logging off when not using a PC,
printing only the number of pages needed, storing only files
needed
for future use
- Deleting old and unused email and files on a regular basis
- Maintaining the accuracy of private mail groups by updating
when members change
Don'ts
College network restrictions include, but are not limited to:
- You may not use College computing resources for illegal behavior
or activities as defined by federal, state, and/or local laws
- You may not send, store, print or solicit email messages, files
or programs that are offensive or in conflict with the Mission
Statement of North Central College
- You may not use email to engage in "chain letter"
or "spamming"
- Users may not misuse, abuse or otherwise damage College technology
equipment
- No one may sell or provide access to the College's computing
resources to outside individuals, groups or businesses except
as authorized by the VP-Academic Affairs and the VP-Business Affairs.
- You may not install or use any software or hardware designed
to disrupt the security of any technology equipment owned by the
College or by others
- You may not install software on any student accessible College
computer
- No one may use College resources to support political or non-College
related business interests
- Activities designed to spy on the network traffic or to access
passwords, user Ids, files or programs of other users is prohibited
- You may not engage in software piracy or copyright infringement.
A single copy of a software license is not a license to share
software.
