Peer-to-Peer Software
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file-sharing allows users to share files online through an informal network of computers running the same software. File sharing can give you access to a wealth of information, but it also has a number of risks. You can download copyright-protected material, pornography, or viruses without meaning to. Or you could mistakenly allow others to copy files you didn’t mean to share.
Do you have a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing software on your computer? Examples of P2P software include:
-
Ares, AresWare, Ares Galaxy
-
Audio Galaxy
-
Azures
-
BitTorrent
-
DC++
-
eDonkey
-
iMesh
-
Kazaa
-
Limewire
-
Morpheus
-
Shareaza
-
SoulSeek
If you have P2P software on your computer and you use it to download or share files illegally; you should remove it from your computer.
