Information on how to login to the college network.

NCC runs a Novell network. The login box is the first thing that you see when you turn on an NCC PC. Logging in allows you to access printers, scanners, network directory (your F: drive), network loaded software and files that your instructors may have posted for you on the network.

Remember: You are responsible for your account. Keep all passwords a secret.

How to log into the network

1. Enter your first initial, middle initial and last name as your username.
ie. If your name is John Quincy Smith, your username would be jqsmith.

2. Enter your NCC password. If it is your first time logging in, use NCC plus your 7-digit ID number as your NCC password. e.g. NCC0000000

4. Click the 'OK' button.

5. If this is your first time logging in, you will be prompted to reset your password.

6. You are now logged into the Network!

How to log into your email account

1. Go to http://noctrl.edu/mail

2. Type in your username (same as Network username) and password. (Your password is ALWAYS the same as your Network password) Your initial Email password is NCC plus your 7-digit ID#. (e.g. NCC0000000)

3. Click "Login."

4. You are now logged into your NCC email account!

How to log into your Merlin account

1. Go to http://merlin.noctrl.edu

2. Click on "Log In."

3. Type in your username in the "User Id" slot.

4. Type in your password in the "Password" slot. (Your password is ALWAYS the same as your Network password). Your initial Merlin password is NCC plus your 7-digit ID#. (e.g. NCC0000000)

5. Click "Submit."

6. Click on "Students" to get to the student menu.

7. You are now logged into Merlin!

How to Log into Blackboard

1. Go to http://blackboard.noctrl.edu

2. Click on "Login" button.

3. Type in your username (same as Network username) and your password. (the first time you log in, your password is NCC plus your 7-digit ID#. (e.g. NCC0000000)

4. Click "Login."

5. You are now logged into Blackboard!

Password Rules

There are two passwords that you'll need to remember: the NCC password and the Blackboard password. The NCC password is the one that you will use to log in to Novell, email, and Merlin. The Blackboard password will allow you to log in to Blackboard.

Note: Although you can set both passwords to be the same, depending on where you reset your password, they may be different.

Passwords expire every 120 days. New passwords must meet these guidelines:

• A minimum of 8 characters long
• Contain at least one number
• May only be used once during a year
