As part of your on-campus housing accommodations, basic cable
television service is waiting for you in your room when you arrive.
No service to order , no waiting for installation, no appointments,
no deposits. Students will have to supply their own coax cable
in order to hook up the television to the wall jack. All you need
is a standard cable-ready TV, along with a standard coaxial cable
to connect your TV to the wall outlet. If you don't already have
these, you can purchase both the cable ready TV (minimum 70 channels)
and the standard coaxial cable at any local department or electronics
store. Prices for coax cable range from $3.00 to $15.00 depending
on the length of the cable. If your television is not cable ready,
you will also need to purchase a cable converter box. Coax cable
and converter boxes are available at retail stores such as Radio
Shack, Kmart, and WalMart.
ALL THE GREAT PROGRAMS
With the basic cable service, you will be able to watch all of
your favorite programs. With the access to over 70 basic channels,
there will never be a time when you can't find something good
to watch on TV. See the Channel Line Up card for channel numbers.
NCC SPECIAL EVENTS AND MESSAGES
When you want to find out what is happening on campus, turn to
the NCC programmed channels. NCC does programming for five internal
channels, 82-86. These channels broadcast information on daily North
Central activities and other information relating specifically to
North Central College students. You can also enjoy the sounds of
North Central's own radio station, WONC,
on the NCC channels.
